What Does Spinal Decompression Costs?

We have been providing treatment for bulging and herniated discs in San Francisco for 23 years now.

About 10 years ago, after considerable research, we decided to add nonsurgical spinal decompression to our clinic so that we could better treat these conditions. The results have been outstanding.   The machine we use is the DRX9000. The protocol for spinal decompression is 20 one hour sessions over 6-8 weeks. We were the first to offer spinal decompression with the DRX9000 in San Francisco and our cost at that time was $6000-$10,000 depending on the severity of the condition,  level of treatment and adjunctive therapies involved.

That was then and this is now. Now there are many more spinal decompression machines and the machines costs less…so the price has come down. Our prices these days for lumbar or cervical spinal disc decompression is $3500-$6000 depending on what you need. Quite a bit cheaper. Plus, we are much better at it…it’s an art. Over the past 10 years we have performed tens of thousands of spinal decompression sessions on thousands of patients. We are pretty good at this…and experience matters! Some of the conditions we treat are lumbar and cervical disc herniations, disc bulges, spinal stenosis, disc degeneration, and facet syndrome. The most common symptoms associated with these conditions are low back pain, sciatica, leg pain, numbness, tingling, burning, aching, neck pain, arm pain, weakness, night pain. There has never been a better time to consider spinal decompression therapy. We reserve the machine for your appointments so there is no waiting, and we validate your parking at the Embarcadero Center. It’s super easy and efficient.

Spinal Decompression Cost. Is it Worth The Money?

Spinal Decompression Therapy with DRX9000

We have been providing Spinal Decompression in San Francisco for over 10 years now. At first, we had the only spinal decompression machine in the Bay Area. We quickly developed a waiting list and soon after this purchased two more machines. The machines we use are the DRX9000.

The spinal decompression cost has come down. The price back then was $6000 for 20 sessions. The protocol for decompression is twenty sessions over 6 weeks. Each session is about an hour. You are on the decompression machine for 30 minutes, then 10 minutes of muscle stimulation and 10 minutes of ice. It takes about 5-7 minutes to put the harnessing on that connects you to the machine.

Now, 10 years later, there are more DRX900 machines in San Francisco and the price is lower due to supply and demand. Our price is now around $3500-$4000 depending on the specific treatment plan and protocol.

So, is spinal decompression worth the money? Well, when you consider that spinal disc decompression has a very high success rate with very low risks of injury, the answer in my opinion is YES!

Heck, it is very labor intensive and the machines are very expensive. Our spinal decompression machine cost around $150,000 and treats both cervical and lumbar disc herniations.

And here’s the deal…In the unlikely event spinal decompression fails to deliver a favorable outcome you are still whole and can pursue other treatment options. If you have back surgery you may be permanently disqualified from ever trying disc decompression therapy.

So, it’s up to you. You can have back surgery which may or may not work out and could have serious complications including permanent bodily harm. Or, try safe, painless, highly effective spinal decompression first. Sure you will be out some time and money, but the upside is big…getting your life back!

Is Spinal Decompression Affordable?

drx9000 therapy san francisco, 94111
DRX9000 Lumbar Decompression

We heave been providing spinal decompression therapy in San Francisco for 9 years now. We were the first to introduce the DRX9000 and DRX9000c to the SF Bay Area.

Slowly, over the years, more decompression machines began to appear in other back pain clinics. Now that disc decompression is mainstream and there are more machines, the price has come down. Supply and Demand 101.

In reality, the difference in price does not mean much when you consider what you are getting in return…your life back!

For instance, when I purchased my first lumbar decompression machine it costs me $150,000. I ordered the combination unit with the DRX900c so we could treat cervical and lumbar disc herniations. Then I ordered a few more machines because the demand was so great. Our price, depending on the package was between $6000-$12,000. That was 7-8 years ago.

Now, because there are more spinal decompression system’s in San Francisco, and there are quite a few used machines for sale on the secondary market, the price is anywhere from $2500-$5000, depending on how many sessions and the adjunctive therapies. Big difference.

There is something you should know though. It’s possible to have a machine like the DRX9000 and not know how to operate it properly and successfully manage cervical and lumbar disc patients. We were already experts at this so the decompression just made things better. Lots of new doctors purchase the machines and do not get good results. It takes time to master the harnessing process and the control system of the decompression machine.

The more chronic neck and back pain cases you manage the better you become. I am confident that we have performed more spinal decompression sessions than any clinic in the SF Bay Area, so we have lots of experience. It is rare when we do not achieve a favorable outcome. But it can happen.

So…there you go. Disc decompression therapy is a lot cheaper these days than it used to be. It’s still not covered by insurance, but if you have insurance we can use it for re-exams, exercises, ice, and some parts of the treatment to lower your costs.

If you would like to make an appointment with one of our San Francisco Spinal Decompression Doctors please call 415-392-2225.
