Hand Pain and Herniated Disc in The Neck

herniated disc treatment san francisco
Is it Really CTS?

We have been providing treatment for hand pain in San Francisco for over 22 years now.

Hand pain is very common in people that spend the majority of their day sitting at a desk in front of a computer…like most of our patients.

When it comes to hand pain treatment the source of the pain is not always in the hand. In fact, more often than not the source of the arm or hand pain is from pinched nerves in the neck. That’s right, pinched nerves in the neck can cause the same type of hand pain that pinched nerves in the hand or wrist can cause (carpal tunnel syndrome).

This is why it’s so important for a doctor to examine the neck to the finger tips when a patient presents with carpal tunnel symptoms such as hand pain.

The primary cause of pinched nerves in the neck is a herniated or bulging cervical disc.

Chiropractors have great success treating pinched nerves in the neck with adjustments, massage, exercise and other non-invasive treatments such as deep tissue laser and Active Release Techniques (ART).

In the unlikely event that chiropractic fails to deliver desired results for hand pain due to a herniated disc, then nonsurgical cervical decompression is considered for the neck.

At our clinic we will often incorporate cervical decompression with the DRX9000c and chiropractic adjustments. This can work extremely well.

We also have a medical team and physical therapy team for difficult cases.

So, if you are suffering with neck, arm, shoulder, elbow, or hand pain, you should probably visit a chiropractor that has expertise in CTS treatment and repetitive stress injuries. And if they have a cervical spinal decompression machine that’s even better.

Herniated Disc Treatment in San Francisco

Spinal Decompression Therapy with DRX9000

We have been providing nonsurgical herniated disc treatment in San Francisco for over 22 years now.

Often times, patients diagnosed with cervical or lumbar disc herniations feel they have nowhere to turn and that back or neck surgery is the only option. Well…that simply just is NOT true. Heck, many people have herniated discs and don’t even know it. They will live and die with them. It’s never a good idea to rush into back surgery…you have options.

Sure, sometimes disc herniations and disc bulges contact the spinal cord or nerve roots in ways that are very difficult to treat. And yes, some of these patients are in extreme pain that can cause severe pain and disability. And yes, sometimes surgery is the only option. But this is the exception and not the rule.

At our San Francisco Spinal Decompression Center we have successfully treated thousands of herniated disc patients, many of which thought surgery was the only answer. Spinal disc decompression machines such as the DRX9000 are designed and built to treat herniated discs non-surgically.

The DRX9000 elongates the spine, enlarges the disc space, strengthens the spinal muscles, ligaments and tendons, and re-positions the herniated disc material back to the center of the disc where it belongs.

Does it do this every time? NO…just most of the time.

For sure, disc decompression is worth a shot before surgery. Either it works or it doesn’t. If not, you are still whole and can pursue other treatment options…even surgery.

To find out if you are a candidate for herniated disc treatment in San Francisco please call 415-392-2225. Ask for a complimentary consultation.

When Choosing a Spinal Decompression Doctor: Experience Matters!

drx9000 in san francisco
Spinal Decompression Therapy with DRX9000

We have been providing spinal decompression in San Francisco for over 9 years. We have been serving downtown  San Francisco for over 20 years providing natural solutions for cervical and lumbar herniated and bulging discs. We specialize in chronic and severe neck pain,  low back pain and sciatica. The machine we use is the DRX9000 spinal decompression system. Prior to this we had perfected a back and neck pain treatment regimen that included chiropractic, physical therapy, acupuncture, massage, and deep tissue laser therapy.

Spinal disc  decompression gave us a “next step” for disc patients that did not respond to our normal lumbar and cervical disc treatment protocols. Instead of referring for a surgical consultation we could now handle these cases in house. Since then we have performed over 25,000 spinal decompression sessions on thousands of patients and the result have mostly been outstanding.

When it comes to spinal decompression results “experience matters”. There are many decisions to be made from the very start to the finish and then post care and rehab.

A Spinal decompression machine is NOT a commodity like a gallon of milk. Just because a doctor has a DRX9000 or similar machine does not mean they know what to do with it. The DRX9000 is a tool, and like all tools it’s use must be mastered.

Decisions like whether or not to even accept a patient for disc decompression therapy. Where to start as far as pounds of pull? What spinal disc to target? What other therapies to do along with the decompression treatment? How many sessions to do? When to change the angle of pull? Nutritional support to reduce inflammation? What about meditation and relaxation techniques…do they help? Then, the choice of exercises and rehab and whether or not to incorporate acupuncture, physical therapy or chiropractic…what about weight lifting? These are all decisions that are better made with lots of experience and help determine treatment results (or not)…it’s not just about the machine.

Plus, does your spinal decompression doctor have a decompression support blog? Are there spinal decompression patients onsite you can talk to? How many years have they been in business? How many years experience do they have performing cervical and lumbar spinal decompression? It all matters…Big Time!

To find out if you are a candidate for care at our San Francisco Spinal Decompression Center, please call 415-392-2225 and ask for a complimentary consultation.

Is Nonsurgical Spinal Decompression Safe?

drx9000 therapy san francisco, 94111
DRX9000 Lumbar Decompression

We have been providing nonsurgical spinal decompression therapy to the lumbar and cervical spine for 8 years now in San Francisco. The machines we use are the DRX9000 lumbar decompression system and the DRX9000c cervical decompression system.

We have performed well over 15,000 sessions during this time and we have never had a patient suffer a serious injury. Sure, we have had patients get sore…in fact, some soreness is expected. Every once in a while someone gets real sore but we are usually able to determine who is at risk and we start off very very light.

The reality is that disc decompression therapy is very safe and gentle. Either it will help you or it wont. But if it doesn’t, which is rare, you are still whole and can explore other treatment options for your herniated discs.

Many surgical procedures involve fusion with cement, wires, screws, etc. If you have one of these surgeries you will be forever disqualified from ever trying spinal decompression therapy. Why not try it first…you can always have surgery?

Heck…even a discectomy, which removes part of the disc…the part that is pressing on the spinal cord or nerve root, does not leave you whole. Your spinal disc is part of your spinal structure. When part of it is removed it alters the entire structure and predisposes you to more problems with other spinal segments later.  This is why so many people that have back or neck surgery need to have more surgery later.

Hey…sometime you just flat out need back or neck surgery…but many times you really don’t. You could have done the DRX9000 or DRX9000c and it would have worked.

So do yourself a favor…if you have a herniated disc in the neck or in the low back that is not responding to medical care, chiropractic, acupuncture, or whatever…or you have been told you need surgery…consider disc decompression first. At least check it out…you might be surprised.

Spinal Decompression is a Tool

drx9000 in san francisco
Spinal Decompression Therapy with DRX9000

We have been providing spinal decompression therapy in San Francisco for 8 years now. We were the first to offer the DRX9000 and DRX9000c in the SF Financial District.

One thing we have learned is this; Spinal Decompression is a Tool.

What I mean by this is decompression therapy is NOT a magic wand, and results vary patient to patient. Some patients become 100% pain free and others are just a little better than they were. Are they happy with that little bit better? You bet they are. because it can be the difference between getting a good nights sleep or being able to play with their kids or exercise, etc.

When a cervical or lumbar herniated disc patient initiates treatment on the DRX9000 or DRX9000c spinal decompression systems we are always hopeful that the treatment will result in a complete resolution of pain and dysfunction. The reality is that sometimes it does and sometimes it doesn’t.

Neck and back pain patients learn what decompression can do for them during their initial course of treatment. Some decide to continue on for periodic decompression sessions and some don’t. Some end up coming back later for more treatment because they know how the tool works for them.

Hey…anything is better than drugs or surgery…so if spinal decompression can be the difference, so be it. If it can help a patient live a more normal life than the ongoing time and expense is worth it.

So is decompression therapy right for you? Don’t know…and neither does anyone else…you have to try it to find out. You have to open the tool box and try this decompression tool out yourself. Chances are you will be glad you did 🙂
